Pediatric Dental X-Rays

Digital dental x-rays are utilized as both a preventative and diagnostic tool during your child’s routine oral exam. They allow our dentists & team to find any hidden dental anomalies.

Pediatric Dental X-rays can show:

  • An abscess or cyst
  • Decay hiding between teeth
  • Developmental abnormalities
    (such as missing baby or adult teeth)

  • Bone loss
  • Not ideal tooth & root positions Issues occurring inside the tooth or below the gum line

Are digital dental x-rays safe?

Digital dental x-rays produce a significantly lower amount of radiation exposure when compared to traditional pediatric dental x-rays that utilize film. They’re also better for our environment since they’re digital they do not require the disposal of harmful waste used in the development of traditional x-ray film.

How often should pediatric dental x-rays be taken?
